was just wondering if anyone on here worked at blockbuster. i got an interview wednesday, and i really hope i get it. what do u guys think of it? hows the pay? also, i heard u get like 5 free rentals a week or some shit, this true?

one of my friends works at one, he gets all kinda crap before it comes out, screeners and whatnot. pay isnt great but decent for what it is, it doesnt take many brains to work at a video store

pre-street rentals wur the best thing.. otherwise dealing with peoples sh!t was a pain in the *** to, i worked there for 8 months in like '97 i believe when they used to need 83 forms of ID and a piece of mail.. Customersalways got pissed.. I actually got fired for insobordination Because i would nt answer the phone how they wanted me to because it was just ghey and took10 seconds to get out,, Some 4 sentence babble about would you like to pre-order titanic bla bla bla .. And yea it was 5 movies per week .. I hope to got this is just an extra job to get money of free rentals, because i was about 18( part time during college) when i worked there, and as stated before You work with ppl with an average 68 IQ

I worked there for a year. I got paid $7/hour to pretty much stand around and make fun of people. You get 5 free rentals per week. It sounds sweet, but honestly, most employees lose interest in watching movies after the first couple months. Just be ready to deal with people *****ing about movies. Learn to not do credits on people's accounts, and you will be forced to gracelessly push the program of the week (Online, Movie Pass, Rewards). It's not a bad gig, though.
