ok i have wanted these speakers since i first saw them come out. right now i have a set of Oz audio 130cs components installed and i love the way they sound, but i think i want louder. Can anyone who has owned a set of these tell me what you think of them and if i will notice any additional output. right now the oz audios are being powered with a zapco amp putting out 50x2. if i were to buy the bostons i would use the zapco to power the tweets and a phoenix gold 200.4 to power the mids. How would this work.

They are real good from what I heard at Tweeter. You sure better hear a difference since you will need like 400W per side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

you dont need 400 per side. 200 definitly. and sound wise, from the boston dealer i personally know, and i have heard them, he says go for the pro's. he says they are well worth it, but when you start the engine and roll down the windows, or have any road noise, it masks the detail of the z6's. he said if you are sitting perfectly still in a car with no noise its worth it, but otherwise the $1000 isnt worth it over the pros.

ditto with the guys post above. They Z's are amazing speakers, great design and built quality, and a great sound to boot, but I just cant get over their insane price. The Z's have an MRSP of 1000, while the Pros 600. (according to my CA&E 2006 directory)

The pros have the same built quality, great design and sound of the Z's, just at a more affordable price. Are they better? No, but it depends what its worth to you.

I've owned the Z6's for quite a while and definetly got to test them out on IB door installs, pod installs and sealed installs... very impressive speakers. They get loud as F*CK. Screaming, in fact. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I agree to a certain extent, but I still think they get louder than the Pro's when properly installed, aimed and given enough power (150-400w per side)

I agree, but if you're lookin' to pick up a used pair of Z6's for under $500, then go for it. I'll be selling my Z6's soon and already have a few people interested in them.

Boston Acoustics says 20-400 watts. I originally used a Boston GT-22 amp which is 2x75 at 4 ohms, so maybe 2x100 at the 3 ohms the Z6's are rated. I recently switched over to bi-amping. The GT-22 drives the tweets and I have a very old school US Amps that I set up to drive the woofs at 2x250 watts. A definite improvement in SQ. But a 250 watts these puppies will make your ears bleed even driving with the windows wide open and the volume at 75%.
