So i picked one of these up from stereo advantage the other day and compared to my shitty cobra this things gives so many false alarms....laser is by far the worst....at least once every time i take a trip in my car LASER pops up....i also get alot more false alarm k band than i used too maybe bc its more sensitive? i was just wondering if anyone else had this unit and if it does the same thing for you

i am in the market for a radar detector. so are you saying the cobra was better? does the bell pick up real radar sooner or farther away than the cobra?

i was thinking about either the valentine one V1 or the Bel Pro rx65.

The Bel pro RX65 owns... ALL!!!

The Beltronics is simply superior to anything Cobra could ever dream of...

You can change the settings on the 995 FYI //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...

popular science took higher end radar detectors from valentine, cobra, and bel, and bel was the best according to them. i am just a little skeptical of the legality of them in cali. my truck is a little less than legal as it sits, i dont want that to be a another reason to give me a ticket.

The only states where radar detector usage is illegal, if memory serves correctly, are on the east coast (felony offense within the Commonwealth of Virginia, I think)

I do not know about the Vector 995 but I can say that the Pro RX65 is flatly awesome. I've had one since they came out and it has saved me countless hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.

The better a detector is the more false alerts it will give.

The more sensitive it is the better it will detect RF emissions within the frequency ranges it is designed to detect. Unfortunately the frequency on which many automatic door openers at grocery stores, drugstores, etc and motion detectors on some security systems operate falls within the same range as K-band speed detection equipment used by law enforcement. They (most radar detector companies) will advertise as being better than the competition at eliminating false alerts but managing that while still being an effective detector, simply by the nature of the device in question, would be rather impossible.

Read the owners manual and set it up correctly.

I have a 995, and *barely* ever get any false alarms. Actually everyone in my department has one, and we all love them. Definitely far better than any cobra.

Exactly.

Beltronics is literally 10minutes from my CC's Location where I work... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
