I had an outside full service staff leasing company doing all my payroll, well their fees got to be outragous, I switched to a simple payroll company, and didn't realize that the payroll company wasn't including federal payroll taxes in their bill for almost 3 quarters:wow:14 men with a payroll of $12-15k per week will take you to owing the IRS $52,000 with penalties in a hurry.

but it's all good, we all have our burdens, and this is one of mine. Nothing I can't dig my way out of. I just wish they weren't so **** sneeky.

That's retarded. I know the government has to be funded but I will never understand why businesses have to pay the government for the "privelage" of paying their employees.

I mean they tax absolutely everything. They tax the business owner's income, tax his product, tax his sales, tax his payroll, tax his payments for premises/utilities/whatever. They tax the stuff he and his employees spend their paychecks on. You have to pay money to make money, but have to pay money to spend money too. Then, you have to pay money to just HAVE money (interest and property taxes, etc). What crook came up with that idea?

I don't know where the government got the idea that it is entitled to a piece of every single monetary transaction that occurs, no matter how minute.

Actually I am a liberal. I think that there would be much more justification for government spending if it actually benefited the people, but I don't see a whole lot of that. I think the tax system needs to be simplified and streamlined. I also think that people should know where their money is going. The way it is now, it won't be long before they measure everyone's lung capacity once a year so they can calculate taxes on the air we breathe.

When it comes to payroll taxes, the IRS usually penalizes you 100% of the tax you owed them, plus interest! So if you owed them $100, you now owe them $200 plus whatever interest they charge per month with NO CAP! I once had a client who thought he could talk the IRS down on what he owed and tried to pass off his not paying quarterly taxes as a "clerical" error. When he and his attorney the IRS office, he ended up owing the IRS another $10k.

On another note, I am glad that I no longer work for a CPA firm.

The problem is entitlements, it set up the shitty system we have now where the less you do the more you get. I am sick of paying for slackers. The government needs to get out of our pockets, do the fair tax, get rid of 50% of the IRS (huge savings) cut 90% of the entitlements, stop giving immigrants money to start up buisness...

We have forgotten the fact that "the government is there to serve US" Who is US, the people that pay taxes, the citizens of this country, not the ones who don't hold citizenship.

We could go on and on, but it is screwed up and we can not continue to be progressive, we need to regress, get our shit together, then move forward. We have forgotten who and what America is!
