I have 6 JL Audio 8W6's, the original version of them. I have never had all 6 up and running at one time, only 3 in a 1.75ish ported box. I am looking to build a new box for them, im open to ALL box suggestions, whether we are talking about all 6 sharing the same box, 3 in each box wired 4ohms each box, individual sealed boxes for each. Pretty much anything. Im not looking for the most SPL, I am looking for tight quality bass that sounds awesome with rock and alternative music, but can get down if I throw in some rap. Any ideas? The box is for a Jeep Grand Cherokee so space isnt TOO limited however the thought of putting all 6 in sealed enclosures measuring around .35cu ft each has crossed my mind so that I could have a box about 2.2 cu total.
Oh, also take into considering my Amp options as it stands right now are all the Art Series which arent going to be very friendly with the duel 6ohm wiring sceme of these. Best option I can see is either an A300 on each set of 3 or running the A1200 in 4ohm Stereo at 300watts a side. Which would cause a problem if all 6 were in the same chamber.
Actually, I was thinking, anyone familiar with the W6 line, can you parallel each voice coil to make each sub 3ohms, then series them to make each set 9ohms, and then parallel them again to make a 4.5ohm load which the A1200 should beable to run at?
