Anyone using a radiator?

Umm, that is a passive radiator. Notice the threaded rod for adding mass? Why make a new basket just for radiators when you have a ton just sitting around?
yeah, and it is missing a thing or two, like..... the voice coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

and the screw/adapter plate that lets the motor screw on.

Doh my bad you're right. But I still dont see the point of using such an expensive frame. I doubt any manufacturer just has them 'sitting around', they pay to have each and every one made. It would cost less to use/buy/make stamped steel units. This is why the pic thru me. *shrug*

I suppose some people see that frame and assume its a better passive.

I'm sure TC has their baskets made in bulk which means they will have them sitting around. They don't buy them one at a time everytime somebody orders one.

I wasn't implying they have them made one at a time. Im implying they still cost more, each, when ordered in bulk than would a stamped steel frame ordered in bulk, each. If simply ordering 'in bulk' meant the cast alum frames were cheaper, everybody would use them.

if they make their own baskets, the costs of adding new machines can be the difference maker. if they could save money, i'm sure they would //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think you're missing the point. Why make two different baskets (and I assume a small quantity of one type for the radiator) when you can use one for both applications. It looks nice too. I don't know how TC runs things nor do I know why but it seems pretty logical to just use the baskets you already have.
