Anyone use two computers?

Well yeah roommates have two comps running we all download pretty often off same router never been slowed down at all. So that's why I said two pcs one for internet and burning other just for gaming. but shit how exactly does dual monitor work? So u can play a game on one monitor and search the net on the other? Sorry just never seen or messed with dual monitors
Yes. You can do what ever you want on either monitor. Your mouse covers both screens.

Its really, the only way to roll.

CA in one winder, and work in the other. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Depends on how many inputs you have in the monitors and how many

monitors each machine is capable of running. If your getting new stuff I would

not settle for less that 22" monitors, generally they are dual input.

Generally the gaming machine will have 2 dvi outputs ready to run 2 monitors.

The download/burning machine will have an analog output that you would just hook

to the second input on one of the two monitors.

Well, ty lol

But my main point is... i sometime burn games or whatever or if im downloading something and a friend msg me to play a game.. i could play a game while downloading something but of course im gonna lag... so been thinking if it would be worth just having a 2nd comp for downloads and burning and such and main computer just for my gaming mostly..
using the same internet connection you will still get the same lag...

You are not going to be able to download and play a high FPS game on the same connection, You can browse the web as web pages are not that big while doing one of the other or watch movies, ******** etc you just can not use to bandwidth intensive programs at the same time and get the results you want.

also could be getting lag using the same machine and maxing out your processor/ram.

for things like ripping dvd's and watching movies you utilize alot of system resources and combining either of those two things with browsing and IM can bring some systems to a crawl

Only thing that should do is drag down the internet connection in the house, perhaps specifically to your machine since its using a ton of its own upload bandwidth, but as far as I know when streaming your laptop wouldn't do any decoding

x2, this is what I was saying, and about the only reason I could see for running 2 machines is for high CPU applications such as burning that will absolutely cripple your game play.

I used to run 2 computers through a KVM switch (Keyboard Video Mouse) and was pretty good, but at the time I had both computers just laying around and was much cheaper to buy a KVM instead of a second monitor and inputs, plus not much room on the desk.

When I got my new monitor about a year ago instead of stuffing the old monitor in the closet I hooked both of them up. I gotta say after having 2 monitors I don't think I will ever go back to just 1. Gaming full screen on one monitor and browsing the net or having aim/winamp ect open on the second monitor and such.

If all you need is a burning/downloading machine and not a second gaming machine that you will be using at the same exact time as the other then just get a KVM switch and a cheap 5-port hub and call it a day.
