Anyone use two computers?

I have a brilliant idea, why dont you do one thing at a time?

Obviously bandwidth is bandwidth no matter how ya split it. Burning usually hogs CPU and ram a lot so I see this reasoning I guess if you really burn that much stuff.

I can't see spending a bunch of cash on this sorta deal unless you can score a cheap setup somewhere for the downloading and burning. I would just run a KVM switch or dual monitor setup. KVM would probably work best though since you won't have to worry about burning/gaming plus no need to get a different desk.

Otherwise you must do this...

I'm thinking about buying like a L shape Computer Desk.. so i can have two computers running by each other.. one for gaming and other for application other things that i do... i just didn't know if anyone here used two computers at once in case something is running or ur burning something that takes up time... figure if i was burning something i could play a game on the other comp.. didn't know if it would be useful or worth it or not.

i use 2 diff towers at work. on one i run some arc gis software and the other i use for order entry. appears they both cannot be on the same tower because they conflict w/ each other. they both run on my single monitor. we have some sort of video switch that i just press a button onmy desk and it swtiches between the 2.

hm.. either everyone who is yapping about playing games on one computer and surfing the web on the other kills bandwith must have a shitty *** connection.

my house has 2 comps, 1 laptop, 2 360's hooked up to a linksys router. my brother would be playing WoW on his computer while i surf the net/torrent and play on xbl w/o any bandwith issues. as for the laptop that is usually streaming webcam 60% of the day. so really him having 2 computers next to each other on the same line isn't shit.

and i do this on a comcast cable connection.

I believe it was said, but you can run 2 computers with a KVM switch. You'll also need a router or switch to split the 3 internet connections. I experienced some lag when I used to play ps3 while my other 2 computers were still running. You could just upgrade to a faster connection used for businesses if downloading snuff and playing WOW at the same time is that important to you.

Or you could try one pc wired and one wireless.

My two computers are running 24/7

But never with scissors in their hands. I would never allow that indoors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Well yeah roommates have two comps running we all download pretty often off same router never been slowed down at all. So that's why I said two pcs one for internet and burning other just for gaming. but shit how exactly does dual monitor work? So u can play a game on one monitor and search the net on the other? Sorry just never seen or messed with dual monitors
