Anyone use just a jigsaw to build enclosures?

I use a jigsaw for my circle cut outs and a circular saw and straight edge for everything else. No way I'd use a jigsaw for straight cuts. Never turns out good. The blades are too flimsy to keep the cut straight and smooth.

a quality jigsaw with the right blades works as well as any table saw
never in a million years is a jigsaw no matter what blade you use ever going to be anywhere even close to as good as a table saw... unless your table saw is a 4" battery powered circular saw screwed to a piece of wood.....

the very best Jigsaw in the world can't cut a line anywhere close to true, square and plumb like my Steel City TS can...

even a decent straightline rip with a skil saw is better than any cut a jigsaw can make..

i built my first 3 boxes with only a jigsaw. pain in the arse and took a long LONG time. I was truly blessed the day i bought my circular saw. still building boxes with my 1 and only circular saw and original cheap pawnshop jigsaw.

Ive build with a jig before, true not as straight of an edge. But it you dont have a circ/or table saw do what you have to do. Just make sure your ready to use guerilla glue or body filler to fill the gaps and a hell of a lot of sanding. My box i did for MWSPL finals in 09 was made with a jig saw. If you take the time you can make it work its just not easy.
