anyone use adobe premiere pro?

i'm finishing up a video and i don't know what settings to use for exporting. It'll be burned to a DVD so it needs to look good on regular tv's and widescreens etc...

whenever i pick some settings and start it says it's going to take like 5 hours to render. Is this normal? the video is about 40 minutes long.

what settings should i use?

on the cpu/ram side it's old, AMD x2 3800+ 3gb's DDR, anyway i can transfer this to another computer and export it from there? my dad's got a kick *** computer.

I'm not exactly sure about that since you might need to export a lot of files along with it and not just the project file. Please understand that rendering a video takes a crazy long time so even with a better computer you might not even see that significant of an improvement. Doesn't hurt to try though

it's a pretty big jump from my cpu to his, and that's mostly what video rendering takes up is cpu power. I'd be going from a x2 3800+ 2.0 ghz to an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 ghz, no comparison really.

thing i just want to render a portion of it so that i can burn to a DVD and see how it looks with the settings i chose so that the final video looks good. I can just set it up overnight and hope it's done in the morning.
