Ebay among other sites has high-powered Pen style Class IIIB lasers ranging from 50mw to 200mw. I'm curious if anyone has tried to solder with these.

he's not talking about office laser pointers, he's talking about a serious laser that gets quite hot. If you just waved it around it would do nothing, but if you held it on somebody in the same spot for about 10 seconds it could easily burn a hole through their shirt and if they are somehow oblivious to that hurt their skin. I've seen them light matches and pop balloons, I'm sure they can melt solder.

No. It's not going to happen. You're going to be sitting there for a long time trying to get to over 500* fahrenheit.

lol. if i wanted to solder somthing id get a soldering gun,

if i wanted to annoy someone, id get a laser.
