i am moving to st. pete, fl in june and would really like to start saltwater fishing while i am living there. i would like to get a small center console boat to take out a few miles, but i don't really know anything about saltwater fishing or boats. i grew up fishing in the great lakes for salmon, lake trout, etc, but i am clueless when it comes to the ocean. does anyone here know anything about the sport, or know some good forums to visit?

yeah and way better fights. i remember once we caught a 4-5' black tip shark but we got it up to the boat and put a 9mil slug in its head before we pulled him on board.

fun times

when you move i'll take you out and show you around.. i was a guide for 3 years. theres a+ fishing all down the west coast.. i live about 30 min boat ride from st pete and go there alot to fish... theres monster snook, reds, trout, tarpon, cobia and many others around the islands and the skyway in st pete
