Anyone running a JL 1000/1 to a 12W7?

its a good amp, i have it on 2 8" w7's............it will do twice the power.....but it won't be twice as loud........there is a point of deminishing returns when it comes to sound

ooo for god sakes kid get some knowledge yea it will sound good how does your 500/1 sound. And no it won't be twice as loud i wish it would though that would make my system hit 280 db if i got twice the power:laugh:

I didn't think it would sound literally twice as loud, it was just something to guage it by. The subs not loud enough for me espically when I get out of my friends tahoe with 2 15" L7's.................

/\/\what the hell?/\ /\ i thought the sound "sounds" twice as loud with like every 6 db increase, or somewhere around there. Im pretty sure when you double power, you hear a large increase in sound.....

6 db's isn't twice as loud...........its........well 6 db's louder

well, he's on the right track, decibels are exponential, not linear.

a 10db sound is 100 times louder than 1 db, 20db is 1,000 times louder than 1 db.
