Just built a box with the specs in the title and am really looking forward to hearing it. Still have some work to do , carpet etc... So who rocks this set up and how do you like it? I plan on putting a pioneer champion pro series 3500 peak/1000 rms in it. What do you have in yours ? Any feed back is welcomed ....

those are just free designs that will work fine, you can get a lot more technical with the box if you want the most perfect box.

I could have waited for a good tip but got a bit impatient and just wanted to mess with my sounds , it's like a drug sometimes , lol. I feel confident that it will do well, better than a prefab at least.

Op: Now would be a good time to download Torres and start playing around. Just enter dimensions from one of those designs and start changing it until you get whatever size/tuning/port area your sub needs. Those designs aren't too bad. I used them for my first couple of boxes, but ended up tweaking them anyways. Depending on your sub(s) displacement, your box volume/tuning won't be the same as what's listed. Just enter dimensions from one of those designs and start changing things until the size/tuning/port are where you want it. If it doesn't turn out like you want, make it look pretty and put it on Craigslist.

the pio sub will be your limitation, not the enclosure....

It should sound great. I almost always tune to around 30. I agree with mlstrass that the pioneer might be a limiting factor though, although I have not used that exact model just similar ones.

The one he's using is pretty much one of the worst subs ever built in terms of sound quality.

Hope he didn't pay more than the $40 for it then. The price of a new one is just insane compared to everyone else.
