any of you guys replaced ur ipod's battery? yourself? my nano wont even stay on long enough to play one song so i gats to do somethin... i see there are replacement batts for around $20 online that even come with a tool to pop open the case... i know the nano's battery is soldered in, im not worried about that, just dont wanna fox up my casing trying to pop it open

also where did u buy from if you bought a replacement online?

I would hate to pop an ipod case open. I think that cnet made a video about it and they ended up ruining the lcd. When they popped the lid off the screwdriver made the lcd black in one corner. Not trying to scare you or anything.

I've changed the battery on my 4th gen white one. I bought the battery and little tool kit. The tool they sent was way too wide to fit in between the casing, so i just used a very thin sharp knife. There were two snaps on each side. one closer to the bottom and one closer to the top. Hope this helps, but i'm sure the nano is different.

You're gonna **** it up do0d. Sorry, but it is the truth.

Just like the iPhone. They do it for a reason. If you like your toy, send it in to get fixed. $$$
Do you really have any clue WTF you are talking about or are you just talking out of your *** like you did in the laptop thread?

Just to add a lot of people get the kits and replace them by themselves without any issues, just be careful doing so.

how can i possibly **** it up? its useless as it is right now, and i'd rather just take the $60 something bux or whatever it costs to send it in and put that towards a brand new ipod.

im just wanting to know if anyone's bought a replacement batt online and if it turned out to be a decent product or not

and BTW ive taken apart my ibook to replace the hdd, so poppin' open an ipod should be nothing compared to that

well that was easy as pei... just stuck a razor blade in the side and it popped right open....

if u can tell in the pic, the battery is all puffed up, like it exploded or some shit... i dont think it should be like that? maybe thats why it doesnt work? lol

well just gotta orderz a new one and solder it in
