I saw a 2003 Mach 1 that managed to get in the 30s in a Modified Mustangs magazine. It had some work done to it to get it there though.I don't know where you guys are pulling these MPG numbers from, maybe from your ***, but you are not getting almost 30mpg on a GT mustang, sorry, keep dreaming.
I don't even get it with my Focus ST when it was stock.
my stang floats right under 32 mpg going 60, 25 isnt to hard even close to 80.I don't know where you guys are pulling these MPG numbers from, maybe from your ***, but you are not getting almost 30mpg on a GT mustang, sorry, keep dreaming.

No it don't. Maybe in a streatch of road you will see it, but over all when said and done, it won't be over 30, which is what I thought we were talking about.my stang floats right under 32 mpg going 60, 25 isnt to hard even close to 80.Its a manual 3 valve. Its rated at 27 highway... Nearly any car can get above EPA if you drive it right, now if im having fun in it, it drops, but crusing on the highway i can get 25-30
i agree i have an 05 gt 5 spd and see similar milleage, but im not complaing i didnt buy it for gas milleageNo it don't. Maybe in a streatch of road you will see it, but over all when said and done, it won't be over 30, which is what I thought we were talking about.
My buddy has a 2006 GT and a little work done to it and it gets a little over 20 on the highway at normal driving on a good day. City he is in the mid teens and driving normal.
I have a ton of friends who have had older/newe stangs and never got over 30, unless serious work was done to improve the mileage like Gunz said.
My only problem is if I did what it took to get my car in the 30s, I would be abusing the additional horsepower created by the modifications. That usually involves porting and polishing the heads, intake, headers, exhaust, spark plugs, coil overs, and a different tune. I am sure a 6 speed with a 3:23 or 3:27 rear end would help too but then I would need a supercharger or a turbo to make up for my loss of low end power. No it don't.
