Anyone play with dual tuning?

I wasnt plannin on buildin 2 box for him, just make one box and chamber it and just tune it differently on each side, and the subs are the same. And he doesnt have the space to build a 6th order bandpass, nor do I have the time(and knowlegde) to play with all that., Cuz I know that if not done correct u can damage pretty **** quick.

what you are describing is a bandpass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Actually, I think he means 2 seperate boxes. One tuned higher than the other. Not a bandpass. 2 completley differnet tunings given the same driver/power.
you sure? to me that screams single box, which would undoubtedly be bandpass.

but if he is indeed talking about two boxes, then i will admit i mis-read it.

But i think he wants one box, with 2 seperate drivers in 2 seperate chambers with different tuning for each sub. Not bandpass, just a dual ported box with different tuning per chamber.
Yes I believe that was his intention....dont think anyone has tried it, nor will I advise you should. Unless of course you are extrememly bored and have some wood laying around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I see cancellation though...

If you want nice High bass and low bass build an ABC box. Haven't heard much of them lately, but I've tried it and was very impressed with the results. Basically it's pretty easy You take your box with x amount of airspace and tune it to 26-35hz. Then find the port length and use the exact same port deminsions to connect the main chamber to a secondary chamber of 1/2x. Then once again you will use this exact same port comming out of the second chamber and since it is 1/2 the airspace it will be tuned exactly one octave above the other chamber. SO in total you will have two chambers, one say 4 cubes with the subs in it and the other would then be 2 cubes and be empty. You will have a total of three ports for example one comming out of the main chamber tuned to 30hz, one connecting the two chambers, and one comming out of the second chamber that would end up being tuned to 60 hz. All three ports should be the exact same!!!! Try it out if you have the room.

I think I've done what he is suggesting. I had this two chambered box with 2 Pyramid sus in it. I tuned one chamber lower than the other. The frequency response extended alot higher than it would have been had I tuned the chambers the same. There also wasn't noticeable cancelation.
