Nah but if you are a real enthusiaste about bimmers then you must feel the car and what it does and as we are talking about the humble areoplane builder the paddle thing isnt as well equipped as you own brain it might change quckr but it most times wont go to the right gear when you try to punch out of a corner and give the tale a wag

Do you own a BMW of any kind ol skool or new skool with a 2 in 2 out hiflow s/s exhaust system from stock you cant tell me it doesent sound better in manual form and when you a giving your car a thrashin then its better with a real manual as it makes you work for your pleasure not just press buttons and point the wheels real deal is real men race a manual car whether its straigh cut or dogleg aslong as you clutch down gears or at least one of the gears its a manual and its the bomb dizzle mizzil

The 325 is and excellent platform and im not baging your car but to fix the issue of no get up and go ou really have to lose the 4x4 man its just not BMW back then what BMW did extremly well was build the best FR cars the 4x4 versions were actually introduceced for a fourign market i think switzerlind or some other snow covered country as a way of getting more tration wth the sam luxury
so if you convert to the standard 5speed rear wheel drive and give your engine a freshen and a fettle youl find itll preform fairly well against most new vehicles and with the right exhaust it will sound like *** in a tincan aswell

So really it's not an "issue"... The 4x4 makes it slow to get up is all? Though I would not give up the 4x4... Very nice for winters (I live in MN rear wheel is a BIG nono for me.)

Maybe I'll try that once I get a new car... I'm going to un-insure the BMW, and keep it parked... Repairs are WAY to **** much for an 89'... The parts prices are insane....

How much would a new transmission cost for this car? Just if you know off the top of your head...

****** of the top of my head for that hear in oz or there in states could go from 600 -3000 depending on condition and alot of other varibles ive seed 5 speeds for the 325 go for 2000 because they only had 10000kms on them as new would be rediculous but reman well the prices are heaps better and if you know and trust the dude whos doing it then your sweet

We know a mechanic who works on BMW's. How much does installation usually cost for something like this? lol... Also one more thing, where do you find used BMW parts?

I have a go cart for sale, but anyways, my bmw feels more conected to the road than any other car ive driven, maybe you should try some of the newer ones.

I wouldn't necessarily call them an ultimate driving machine. Comfortable ride yes, but for actually driving no.

hahaha. congratulations for the worst post in the thread.. BMW's are comfy.. just like any a4/a6/a8 ect. step up to an m class and feel the comfort.. comfortable somewhat but you feel the road more than anything. i can guarantee an b5/6 s4 can NOT take an m3 through the canyons. stock v stock m3 will take it every time.

now the new m3 was compared with the rs4 and go check the facts on that... rs4 is a beast but id still take an e46 m3 over it any day.. the pinnacle of BMW's are the e30 m3 nd e46 m3.. amazing machines and super under rated

eh.. i feel the same way... e30-e46 are the best feeling in my opinion and most others. just more of a drivers car

i do like the e92 335i.. the mod ability of oem Fi cars is insane

i was thinkin of selling mine and going for the 135tii just because it is based off of the e46 chassis and its like 700 pounds lighter than a 335 with the same engine.
