Anyone ?? Need help with garage install

how would i go about hooking up a small speaker amp and a Headunit in my garage to power a couple speakers and play cd's etc.. I have an extra battery lying around. Do i need a battery charger? I know i need a Ac to dc converter but how do hook all them together? thanks

A car battery with a trickle charger on it will give you hours of play. If you want something more elegant, a regulated 12V power supply good for 5 amps or more would do it. My bro uses a motorcycle battery and a small 1 amp charger.
