anyone live in VA who does installs?

i went to my local audio store to see how much my subs, amp for subs, componets, amp for componets would cost to be installed and wired, and it was like 189.00 for the labor and installation and another 100-115 for the wiring, and that seemed rediculously high. they said they wouldnt use other wiring except their own because they spend entire days trying to figure out why stuff wont work when its all in the wiring people give them. so is anyone in VA who would be able to install for cheaper?

Actually, that's not a bad price for installing all that, I would say with the wiring, they are pricing you for an amp install kit, then adding in RCA's and speaker wire. It may seem high, but that's a lot of man-hours. Think about it this way, auto mechanics are getting paid $60 an hour right now, and these guys are specialists just like they are.

BTW: I used to be an installer at Autosounds of Virginia on Broad Street. If I still lived in VA, I'd install it for you.
