I thought this could be a good way to maybe share with others any good new music that you have listened to lately. I downloaded an album off of iTunes recently only because I liked the name of the band. They are called I Set My Friends On Fire and the album is called You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter.

Yes, there is lots out there, but it is hard to find it on the radio or MTV (whichever version still actually plays music).

the metallica Death Magnetic album was pretty good IMHO considering their age.And five finger deathpunch's The way of the fist.

The new metallica sucks imo, I mostly sat that because I grew up listening to master of puppets, kill em all etc..

What do you consider "newer"? The band is about 15 years old now. I haven't listened to Century of Self yet, but their best album is Source Tags & Codes.
Do you want new music from the last couple weeks, or new music from the last year or so? For example, someone mentioned Vampire Weekend's album, which is good, but it's more than a year old (and the songs themselves are even older than that). I can post a list of my top albums of 2008, if you'd like, and I'm quite sure a lot of it would be unfamiliar to you.
