One-way linear excursion is a more important figure, and is what xmax is really supposed to be. For the record, I believe the highest DUMAX-verified xmax is the 13W7 with 31cm (I think), which is roughly 1.2". A lot of drivers have their peak-to-peak numbers based on physical limits, not actual abilities, and I'm thinking that 2.81" is one of these types of numbers.
