Anyone know who they're voting for in 2008?

One sunny day in 2008, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton ." The Marine replied, "Sir, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here." The old man said, "Okay," and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton".

The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mrs. Clinton is not President and doesn't reside here." The man thanked him and again walked away..

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Hillary Clinton."

The Marine, uderstandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Clinton. I've told you already several times that Mrs. Clinton is not the President and doesn't reside here. Don 't you understand?"

The old man answered, "Oh, I understand you fine, I just love hearing your answer!"

i think her best shot is if the GOP runs McCain. Faced with having to vote for a woman/black man or McCain (who wants 100K more troops in iraq), i think America might choose the minority.

McCain would lose because at least half of the conservatives hate him, regardless of how many troops he'd put in Iraq..

I'm voting for Lincoln, a dead man can do better than the shit we have to choose from.

and since when have women been minorities?
forever.

A minority or subordinate group is a sociological group that does not constitute a politically dominant plurality of the total population of a given society. A sociological minority is not necessarily a numerical minority — it may include any group that is disadvantaged with respect to a dominant group in terms of social status, education, employment, wealth and political power. To avoid confusion, some writers prefer the terms "subordinate group" and "dominant group" rather than "minority" and "majority".

isn't that basically what i said? Her only real shot at winning is if the GOP runs McCain.

It doesn't really matter if half the conservatives hate him.. if he gets the GOP nom, the conservatives will still vote for him (or not vote at all).. its not like the conservatives who hate McCain would vote for Hillary under any circumstances.

The conservatives are in a pickle... they need the Christian right turn out to win the general election.. but so far the front runner GOP candidates are social moderates.. who support gay rights and abortion.. doesn't sit well with the bible thumpers.

Nonetheless, the Dems have their own problems.. running minority candidates //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

08 should be interesting.

Here's my definition

Socialogical Minority - I liberal ideal, brainstormed by people who have to much ****ing time on their hands, and whom spend that time twiddling it away coming up with new definitions for victim groups. The main goal of these people is to assign a victim status to as much of the population as possible so we can all wine and ***** in misery TOGETHER and in unison...

**** racist pigs making a new "minority" group for everything... it seems to me people should be color/race/*** blind when it comes to work/compensation and service.... sure we have our differences (individual, not racial) at home but anywho..

As for McCain he won't get the nomination... If conservatives are voting to win they'll stick guilianni out, if voting from an ideological standpoint most orthodox Christians would vote for Romney. That is if they can get over the fact he's Mormon... which sticks them between a rock and a hard place, legitimize gays or legitimize Mormons.... hmmm

I hope you were intoxicated when you wrote the first part. Just so you know it isn't a new idea. It came from the Chicago school of thought in the 1920/30s. Also it's nice to think of everything being equal, but it's also quite naive. Society is hardly color/*** blind when it comes to opportunities in work/education/compensation. Using ideology is a nice way to endorse the current situation, allowing yourself to feel justified in benefiting from the oppression in society, without even having to recognize the inequalities.

As for McCain, you might be correct. Nonetheless, like i said, the Dem's best shot is if gets the nom.

Also the Christian right doesn't usually "vote to win" they vote their conscious... they will have a hard time voting for someone who supports gay rights and abortion. That includes Romney, as recently as 2002 anyway. They just wont turn out in the general election.

Now if Giuliani gets the nom, the GOP might be able to pull enough independent and swing voters to win the general without the Christian right... but they wont if they run McCain or Romney.
