Anyone know the differences between the older and newer PRO60's??

The most recent(2008) version of the Boston PRO60SE 2 way component set comes with mids that have a black cone. The previous versions had the blue cone mids. I've looked at the stats for each set, and they pretty much seem to be the same. The older ones weren't called SE, either.

Anyone know the real performance differences, if there's supposed to be any?

i know the boston g1's changed color this year too.. but im 99% sure its exactly the same.. i didnt even know till i got em.. the ones i ordered were last years picture

Man, do you happen to remember where you read that? Or do you have a link to it? I'd like to read up on it.

Yeah, I've read random stuff that says the SPZ line has more excursion capability in the 6.5" mid, compared to the PRO60's.

Same mid, different color cone. Pro60 has Type M tweeters, Pro60SE has the current SPZ tweeter with slightly down-tuned AMD. Personally, the Pro60 type M tweeters suited the set better.

plus i doubt they made the set worse, if they changed anything im sure it would be for the better

if you haven't bought those bostons i would look into rainbow,focal,morel,even cdt.

I hate that the mids didn't have much mid bass
