Anyone know if that magnet cover on the ID v.3s comes off?

and if so about how much does it take off the mounting depth requirement???? tring to see if i can make the 8s a lil more shallow than the 4.75 for a really tight spot. thanks!

I have a blown one, I took the allens off too remove the cover and I still couldn't pull it off, it's glued on as well, and it seems like it's screwed right into the bottom of the magnet, so removing the cover wouldn't really make it any less deep.

well even a 1/4 will make a big difference for me

those allen screws hold nothing in place, they are only for looks. taking the cover off gains MAYBE 1/4" max. Its not worth it. Removing it isnt a good idea.
