anyone know how a box sounds with the woofers facing each other

i posted a thread about my Charger and the problem i was having but haven't had much luck. I thought of a design that will fit in the trunk pretty easily but don't know how it would sound.

The box would actually be 2 L shaped boxes with two 12's each. After i join the boxes together the pairs of subs would face one another. What i don't know is how it would sound like that. Has anyone ever seen a similiar box and how did it put out. I am going to add a plate to the top and bottom of the two boxes leaving the front open to direct all the sound into the back seats and up through the deck lid where the factory 8" sub once was. Almost a bandpass but still open enough to breathe like a sealed box.

I've read that they would cancel each other out. But yet I've seen 2 Kicker CVRs get pretty **** loud facing each other in a S10 sealed.

they shouldnt cancel each other out. with them facing like that you should have one set of subs wired backwards. so when (set a) the cone is out, then (set b) the cone should be in.

It'll be fine allow at least 3" of space between each sub if i remeber corretly. So like 6"+ gap in between the subs. There's alot of setups done like that.

Someone can correct me if im wrong on the size between the subs

i am running 4 kicker compvr 12's dual 4 ohm. pushing them with an exile 1200 monoblock amp. was going to wire each woofer in series and then parallel all of them together for a 2 ohm load at the amp. it puts out 2400 watts at 2 ohm.

I have 32 inches of width to play with and the mounting depth on each sub is 6 5/15 in. So if i space them apart 6 in. from each other that would leave me around 13 inches on each side for the boxes. Looking for each box to have about 3 cu ft.each maybe 3 1/2

gotta do some math to make sure my depth won't be to much

i can go 14 1/2 tall

i thought that was was it said in the book. 1200 at 4 ohm 2400 @ 2 ohm guess i read it wrong I bet i was looking at the 2400.1 specs cause that is what i was going to get at first. Oh well. I tried running the amp at a one ohm load though and it would shut down. That link said it was 1 ohm stable. Guess i will need another one and just run 1200 on each pair.

if i space them 6in away from each other my box will take up the whole trunk. well all but 4 inches which is just enough for the amp rack. i just have to relocate the battery and fuse box out to the side since they put the crap in the trunk when they built the thing. Thanks for the help.

Shouldn't really matter how far apart they are, unless you've got a lms or something and are worrying about them hitting each other. Subwavelenghts are long, more than enough a few inches shouldn't matter.

not in this case...only when making a push/pull box and the subs are sealed in.
