Anyone know about fixing LCD tv's????

Buddy of mine will sell me a LG 37 inch tv. heres the model number:37lg50-ua.au8qljm and it has a "cracked screen" he says. i know nothing about this. wondering if its worth buying it to repair or if i should just buy a NEW LCD from walmart. if you know anything about this help me out. thanks alot. post here or email me at: stereofreak1201@msn.com and then it will pop up on my blackberry.

I'd probably just buy a used one off of Craigslist, from someone upgrading to a larger TV.

You really cant fix a lcd with a broken screen. Their is a chance that you could replace the screen but that might not even work. I learned the hard way after my 46 inch XBR4 broke. You can buy a new 37 inch lcd for under 500 dollars.

no sentimental value. i just wasnt sur eif it was like a laptop monitor screen where you can pick up the screen for next to nothing, plug it in and wham bam its good as new. so thats why i asked. 37 inch vizio's are only 400 here so i may just go that route.
