ok so my friend is trying to talk me into joining the airforce since neither of us really know what we want to do in life...

so i wanna know about it, whats basic training like, and all that good stuff...

also we would sign up for military police....

I'm in the Air Force. Get into something that's gonna pay big $$$ on the outside. I.E. Intel, Computers, Signals communications, SATCOM, Sapce systems, ICBMs, etc. The security clearance alone for those jobs will net you a job starting at 50k a year. Throw in an AA which is easily atainable in 4 years of active duty and it goes up from there.

I enlisted for 6 years. I'm in Intel analyst. I got a little less than 2 years left and have spoken with many contractors that tell me with my expirience and my AA from CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) and start in the low to mid 60's.

FYI, you gotta be in the Military at least 15 years and make Senior Master Sergant before sniffing that kind of pay. Hence why I'm getting out. But only a few careers pay that much on the outside. Security Forces aint one of them.

P.S. Basic has changed 100% from when I came in. It's more physical now, with lots of integrated Army Training. They want Airman to be almost as ready for anything should you go to the AOR, since alot of stuff is Joint, I.E. different services working together. And it's 8 weeks long now compared to 6 when I came through.

did almost 5 years in the air force as security force. except as to where i got stationed, loved it. would have stayed in as career if it wasn't for the shit base they sent me to.

ya, i just dont know that its something id be willing to do. moving off rooming with a bunch of guys just doesnt seem appealing to me...and i wouldnt want to serve for this country right now anyway, no offense to any one who has/is serving right now, i give you props for what your doing....its just not something id want to do...

on the other hand, i have no idea what i want to do in life, and the military just seems like an easy way out...

I think he is probably right. It's probably your best chance for a good life and you had better join with him.

I'm in and it's great. Basic was actually sort of fun, like camp or something.

Also, just tell them that you want to be military police when you sign up and it should be no problem.

Grandpa was in the airforce.. Dad was in the airforce, uncle was in the airforce, aunt was in the airforce, their three kids are in the airforce...

on the other hand, i have no idea what i want to do in life, and the military just seems like an easy way out...

Haha... You know lots of people actually go in the the military as a career??? You're thinking of infantry.... Thats the "easy" way out...

But yeah.. Both my dad and one of my cousins went into it for lack of something else.. My dad went to college for 6 years, but got no degree lol, so he went into the airforce..

he said crazy shit happens...i thought he was talking about in the airforce...crazy shit happens all the time, its what makes like fun so why would i not want to go just because of his so called "crazy" stuff?

which if by crazy he meant being assravaged or gargling *** then i dont see why it would matter...
