OK... long story short I got in good with an old employer, helped him through some rough times and now I own 49% of the company. It is doing fairly well, I will not be a millionaire anytime soon but I am making enough that I don't have to really "work" anymore except from my house. We have been looking to move south for quite a while and after income taxes and the first quarter profit (which I will be getting at the same time) I will have about $25K so I fugre it will be a good time to make the move.

We have been looking east/north east of Phoenix in the Florence, San Tan Valley, even as far up as Prescott and Flagstaff. I posted in the Phoenix C.L. chat thing and am getting a bunch of VERY opposite posts and a lot of trolling so I thought I'd ask here. What is it like down there? not weather or jobs because being from Iowa weather doesn't really matter to me and I won't be looking for a job anytime soon so. Mainly curious about the violence/crime and education down there.

I have been reading a lot of posts on C.L. about the CRAZY amount of home invasions and kidnappings for ransome! Almost a daily occurrence from what I hear but that was back in '07/'08. Most people are saying stay the **** away but then others are calling them trolls and saying it's a fine place to live as long as you aren't looking for a job etc...

I figure the further away from the border probably we are the better off we would be. which has us looking into may be southern Utah, south eastern Nevada, south western Colorado and may be even northwestern New Mexico.

Yeah, that is why I was thinking northern AZ and those other areas... we are wanting to get away from winter but we don't want to be in hurricane country or anything. I'm not a big fan of beaners but we pretty much stay to ourselves so it's not like we will be out partying or anythign like that....

i lived in tuscon az for years. moved to denver 10 years ago.i like both. denver is a clean city with a low crime rate. it's moderately expensive here, but not too bad. southwestern colorado is the durango area. small community. i got kicked out of purgatory down there.

Um do not go to ****ing florence.

Florence is in the middle of nowwhere around the mountains

yeah there are alot of home invasions because of the reservations around there

I was one of those home invaders got a few weeks in jail and am on probation.

There is a lot of heroine influence and marijauana and coke influences there so if you have

kids guess what they get to learn about in schools just like i did..how much fun drugs are(until they ruin your liife)

but they wont know it til they are older.

move to chandler or gilbert they are on the outskirts of the city and blend into the city

there are less problems there except for cops trying to bust you for any ****in thing.

Don't go to mesa heroine city. I advise you if you have an upcoming family don't think

arizona is as great as the snow birds say it is. Cause they are oblivious to what is really going

on in the streets, apartment parking lots, and even at the god **** walgreens.

Keep your ****ing family safe beaware before you change your life.

I ruined my families life when we moved there when i was only 11

I came from Iowa and now as of 3 months ago I am back in iowa.

Clean for 3 months only because I got the **** out of there.

Please rethink about going to Arizona. I knoow everywheres got

problems and drugs but seriously its deep into the schools.
