Anyone here work at Best Buy?? Question about adding a warranty to a gps..

I bought a garmin 255wt for my mom for xmas, and I THOUGHT I bought the warranty with it , but I did not.. Is it to late now or can I still add it.. It was bought on the 27th i believe ( black Friday ) But dont want her to open it just in case it needs to be sealed for them to see its not already damaged or something.. thank you

Yea Theres noone to call tonight and she wanted to try it out on her way home, And including tomorrow it will still be in the 30 day return policy ( day 29 I believe ) But I might not be able to get up there, But I thought you could add an extended warranty to anything you bought there within a year with some things ;; //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

You got thirty days. Not even sure if you need to bring it in. Just receipt and such to add it on. They'd probably find it sketchy if you brought it in the day after busted up.

All you need is the receipt. I did that with my GPS. They didn't even need the box or anything.

Yeah, 30 days and i really recommend it. a lot of customers bring it in "not functional" at like 1 year and 11 months. instant new maps and better unit

Being a GPS there are quite a few things that can go wrong with it, so fully imo worth the $30 .. totally spaced my mind when I picked it up on BF to get it, even tho I thought I did.. Well I opened it up and got all registered and everything, now since there was a map update and I have 1.5 mb service its gonna be about a 3 .5 hour download.. Is there anything else I need to know before setup once the new maps are downlloaded? when I first opened it, my dumbass didn't go outside so it didnt get the satellite signal

Now I have an "X" thru the signal bars.. How do I reset that again to try to catch a good signal? thanks guys

just go outside....it shouldnt matter if your are inside or not

get a square trade warranty and use "secretsanta" 30% off

theres a reset button on the back that will wipe everything out, also one in the menu.

Got all the maps and firmware up to date, reset the satellite, ( now getting full signal , so its working good..

Just an //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif to those who might want to add a warranty ( tommy said something about his tv i think ) From the way I understood the guy on the phone today, ANything purchased from black friday until Dec 24th has an extra 30 day return policy, obviously because thiings bought on BF would have to be back tomorrow with a 30 day warranty.. SO they actually give you 30 extra days from christmas

Also Just plotting out a few addresses on the gps i noticed it takes the main road and not really the fastest way.. I know theres a setting to change that I believe, but it doesnt go what way "I" would go that I know is much faster.. Is there wasy to update or change that?

Isn't there like an option for "fastest way" or "shortest way"? It's something like that. I had a Garmin before, it was a long time ago.
