I am thinking about buying this TV at Costco for only a grand.. Vizio SV420XVT

My friend got this TV and I loved every bit of it since this TV got 1080p and 120 Hz refresh rate while my TV is 1080i and 50hz.. So was wondering if you guys see anything bad about this TV? I know that this TV got a low contrast ratio 6500:1, but since I saw the TV personally, the low ratio does not bother me at all..

I know that Vizio is still a developing brand but I think that they are developing into a impressive company and will eventually become one of the top retailer for TVs

Just wanted to get some inputs before going out to buy this TV

i have a 42 Vizio Gallevia or something like that. i LOVE the tv. i bought my dad a 52 Sony bravia. the picture on the bravia is very nice. the vizio is up to par IMO. i find the control on the vizio much better than the sony and my remote for the vizio work with my comcast box along with other accessories. the sony? that's a negative. there are 4 remotes in the living room. lol

the only downside i see about the vizio is the Blacks, aren't quite black. i mean the top and bottom lines for like when you watch movies. you will see 2 different shades. in the movie it's darker and for the bars they are lighter. still not a big issue for me.

i'm sure the newer ones have corrected this issue.

overall. i would say the vizio holds it's ground in the TV market.

Vizio makes good budget tvs. Unless you watch a lot of movies or sports or anything that requires a shitload of detail and contrast, most people wouldn't even notice the difference between a vizio and any other brand. Not saying they are bad at all but you get what you pay for.

a friend of mine baught a vizio last night fro walmart for like $800, 42" LCD 1080p etc...good picture. i had a 46" samsung dlp that i paid $1500 for, for the money that $800 vizio dominated my samsung

friends got a vizio. i like the picture. I rock a panasonic plasma though
x2 on panasonic plasma... 42" in my bedroom, so nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i picked up a 42" phillips @ sams club on friday for $800... does 1080p, 29,000: contrast ratio, 4 HDMI inputs... the works

Me> all of you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

^^ nice but that is when 120hz comes into play... most of 120hz tvs are expensive but this one by vizio is only 1k..

I think I will more likely get this TV, but I will explore my options before buying this TV as well, I will check out some Philips TVs since they do have some nice Tvs for decent price.. and other brands as well

Seems like a good tv. Vizio's are meant to be good, yet a budget tv. I own a 32" samsung and my parents have a 40" samsung. Theirs also is the 1080 p and 120hz...but cost them like 2700.
