W8 is just the "code name" They will have all the sizes they currently offer for the w7 series but will utilize NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) magnets, said to be better or = to N52. Also, JL will continue to use the w-cone and surround design of the w7, this is all we know now.

i spoke to ID about this over a year ago, and they told me the idmax would actually be a 16" subwoofer. check the id forums and its mentioned...wont be cheap
