nub comment..... didnt know components needed a specific airspace. actually, I just never put 2 and 2 together makes sense that they do huh? What is the benefit of doing this? assuming the install is done properly

You can get away with a midrange up there, dont know about a whole component set.

Plus it will look ridiculous

Comps are infinite baffle normally. If that is sealed off it might not sound so good.

However, the audible range is between 20-22KHz (I think it's 22Khz, may be 44Khz or something). So, sure, sub lows are loud.... but the rest is shot. That's why LOUD doesn't really equate into SQ. Because, for the most part, loud lows make everything else kind of fade. However, "hitting 160db" does not equate to good sound reproducing, or even bearable sound quality.

lol im well aware of this.

What I was saying above was that my lows are doing 160 so that throws all sq basically out the window because theres no way of making a setup that will keep up to that in a car environment.
