I am needing a box to fit under the rear seat of my 2002 Dodge Quad Cab and am considering a pre-fab box as I am by no means talented enough to build my own box. Just curious if anyone has had any experiences with pre-fab boxes, particularly under the rear seat of a truck.

I have used pre fabed boxes many times under the rear seats of 88-98' body style Chev/GMC's....JL and MTX make some nice ones...so does Q-Logic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Make sure you get a box that has the right ammount of air space to make your sub happy;)

I'd simply be wary of the thickness of the enclosure. This depends on which subwoofers you are going to use, of course. A Kenwood Tornado could function in a cardboard Big Mac box, where as a RE XXX needs just a tiny bit more than that . :p

Dude I am currently using a Q-logic prefab box and it sounds better than some cutom boxes here. Also They usually are easier to tune and use in general, but then again u aren't quite as proud when u use pre-fab as opposed to soemthing u made.

I've never heard a prefab box that sounds better than a well thought out, well made DIY box.

I agree...the best boxes are DIY, but need to be made to perfection //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif - or close;)

Thanks for your responses! Unfortunately, I have found that Q-Logic does not back a dual 10" enclosure, only a single 10" enclosure. If some of you don't mind, take a gander at this box I stumbled upon:

In speaking with Mark_ab and Alaxan about this enclosure, the question that presents itself is how is the speaker sealed? Has anyone used a box where the speakers was mounted in this manner? Look forward to your replies.

Hmmm do you have the metal storage bins under the seat?? Maybe if they were open...and the enclosure placed on top, it would be sealed...but I highly doubt it. Or is there maybe a second piece to the box....nah..
