Spec. an A6

I am going to look at a 2000 Audi A6 2.7 Twin Turbo 6speed. The ad says well maintained, two new turbos and clutch, and all power options. Car has 130k on it. He is asking $5000. Too good to be true? Anyone with any experience? Things to look for? Any help?

Dont know sounds that way, I was looking for a used A4 not A6's. I ended up buying a brand new '09 but that would be quite a bit more expensive than 5k. The reason I bought brand new is I heard maintaince is quite expensive on these cars.

I had a friend with one. I used to do chip tuning and that thing chipped was a freakin beast. He did blow out something in the drive train and with it being all wheel drive, the bill came to over $24,000. The dealer tried to get him to pay because they knew it was chipped but Audi of America finally caved in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Moral of the story, they are fast as fVck chipped, but extremely expensive to fix. There is basically no room for any air with the engine and all wheel drive train lol.

Other then that, great car. extremely refined yet sporty.

I always wanted to get an S4. Those things chipped where sick fast. But the fastest car I was ever in, a chipped Porsche 911X50. putting out over 550hp. My customer took me for a ride and i cried all the way to 170 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif we had to slow down for traffic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

130K is a bit soon for both turbos to have gone.

I'd say he drove the car hard.

Something to think about.

As far as owning an Audi A6 no (although I have had 3-'83 4000). As for working on or driving, probably close to a hundred. I used to chip tune cars. If you want, I can get you my friends e-mail addy. He can tell you all about it. In fact, I will send his e-mail to you in a link, he is retired now and a great person.

That should help.

Well, the dick that i was supposed to meet (1.5 hr drive) calls me a second before i leave to tell me that he has a guy buying it on the spot right there. My hand was on the door to open it to leave and the phone rang. ****!

Thanks to everyone for the help, as I am still in search of a car.
