Anyone had ebay seller cancel auction after u paid?

Guy was selling subs, i didnt win, but i was 2nd highest bidder.

the highest bidder was not in US, and when the seller went to ship it was gonna be $360 so he offered me to buy them.

So i did, and paid quickly before i ran off to work. soon after i get an email saying he used USPS to ship and it was going to be cheaper so he is going to sell to the original winner.

Fine thats fair, sucks but what can ya do...

Anyways, im waiting on my money. Idk if he hasnt send me the money, or if ebay will take a day or 2 to process everything and make the return to me. ebay's help section says it can take up to 3 days. just wondered if anyone else had something crazy like this happen

Yes I have, but it was on some RCA cables, and they did a charge back on my credit card.

he has been emailing me and seeming very good about not being a scammer, but ive asked about the money twice, and he hasnt responded to my last 2 emails. he has an iphone so should be getting emails straight to his phone.

It was the next day, but it was after the usual email that the item had shipped.

idk why paypal would be that slow, ive never had it be that slow, but i can believe maybe ebay is checking into it and making sure they have it all on file in case something happens

Trust me, when it comes to TAKING your money, the credit card companies (and PayPal) are very prompt...refunding it costs them more money and they lose their fee, so they don't feel the same sense of urgency. You'll get it eventually but it may take a few days.

I haven't had someone change their mind after I paid but I did encounter a douchebag who sold thru eBay as well as his own brick and mortar storefront...I won a set of subs via bid and then he informed me that someone came into his shop after the auction was over and offered him more money so he took it and fucked me...needless to say, he didn't get a good feedback score from me, I filed a complaint with eBay and I think eBay shut him down. So, it was a happy ending.

I just won a bid for the Eclipse XA5000 in my amp. That was 2 days ago. The guy hasnt responded to my message or filled out any the tracking info. Issue is he has flawless 348 feedback and 88 as a seller also all flawless and absolutely no communication despite all of his feedback saying he has great communication and fast shipping.

If nothing else, call paypal directly. They should be able to look up your account and tell if there is a payment/refund pending. They will also be able to answer any other questions you have more directly than we can here.
