Basically you build the box so that it holds the subs up. Like in this picture. See how i have the box suspending the subs firing downward. I personally wouldn't recommend doing this if you are a first time builder but it's pretty simple so i dunno.

I had some fifteens pointing to the floor and that thing hit like a dirty ***** on a piniatta full of STD medicine. It was crazy good sounding.

As far as the way it was suspended the box had the usual four sides (and of course a top and bottom) but the left and right sides were four or five inches longer creating legs for the thing.

would it affect the gas tank?

in my trunk, the subs r sittin right above teh gas tank. would that be dangerous or would it affect the gas tank in a bad way?

no, the flatcone on the ed subs don't make any difference, just look.

just for reference the box is called a compression loaded box. You have it twice the distance of its Xmax for the best sound. Make sure the air can only escape forward. So basicall the sides and the back should be touching hte ground. Most sq cars are set up this way. Just take a normal box plan, but make the two sides on the back piece a little longer.

i was going to fire my subs down in my new box becsue i got some professional advice and they said that will make them hit really f'n hard and the rattles will be tons less. i decided to fire my subs up and face my port towards the inside of the car because they were too pretty to hide. they are loud as crap but my car is one large rattle
