Anyone ever used DB Electrical HO alt.s?

As you can see, they have great prices. I was just wandering if they were of good quality and if they will put out what they are rated. I would also like to know if they have good custonmer service. Anybody know anything about 'em?

I checked the other thread and saw that a couple of people are running them, and they have no complaints, but nobody really knows weather or not their alts are putting out rated output. Has anyone else dealt with DB Electrical?

I have a 200amp for my S10, it works great! at idle it isnt impressive, but not many alts are at IDLE. once you barely tap the gas, it keeps the voltage steady at 14.4-14.5 eassssily. I can crank it up at 15.1 on cold mornings.

That sucks, I was hoping it d put out pretty good number at idle..

But I guess all of the alternators are like that? maybe except for few..

Well, Idk about "01 S 10"'s alt, but the one that I was looking at for my mustang is a 200 amp alt. that costs only $199.00 (an E.A. 200 amp alt. costs $350). DB rates it at 105 amps at idle and 200+ amps at 1200 rpm, so that sounds about right in line with what "01 S 10" was saying about his. Theoreticly, I guess you could just put a little bit smaller pulley on it and get the full 200 amps at idle, but Idk if it would over rev the alt. at high engine speeds.

Hey 01 S 10, does your alt hold 14+ volts steady with your system playing full tilt?(It is the same system stated in your sig. right?) If it does, then I'm pretty sure that I'll go ahead and get one. Hell, I might even ask them about getting a smaller pulley on it to get better idle performance.

i have a db electrical alt 275amp for 260 shipped.. they use the same parts as powermaster and they give u a 1 year warrenty if ANYTHING goes bad with it there alt. ive had mine for 6 months now and not a prob one... i have a 01 jimmy but the one i have is for the yukon more amps than the blazer jimmy alt they offer

yes my alt is putting out just over 275amps reading from a amps meter..nice idle power showing 163amps with the overdrive pully they use gives u full power at 1200rpms...
