Anyone ever rear deck mount a set of these Assasin 8's?

If I can fit them in the Cav I will try it and post the pictures. I guess I will need to build some boxes for them but don't really know how big and I will need an amp.

What 4-channel amp will drive them nicely and a component set up front? I want a little room on the amp too. TIA

How much do they run? Do you have a picture of what the IB would look like?

there isnt much really to see in an ib setup, the cones are in the rear deck and the basket is in the trunk, not much else to it.

So basically they are just mounted. Are the ID's around the same price? It's for my Daughter so anything over $150 or so for her and she can't do it. Trying to get some thump back there but without going broke. Not having to use a custom box would help but I am handy enough to build one with stuff left over from a past project. Trying to KISS.

well an idq 10 is about 150 from woofersetc.com, little cheaper on ebay.

obviously...if you think its a waste of a woofer. IB setups have some of the best response. They may not get the loudest, but they arent intened to be SPL type setups.

I wasnt being serious...well kinda... Trust me I understand IB perfect, an i've installed a fair amount an understand the sq, an great flat response. I just don't prefer them in daily installs, but I was jus throwin out my 2cents.

Daily installs are where they make the most sense. You know actually reproducing music. Exceptionally efficient. Very accurate. Minimal impact on trunk space. All the things a normal person wants in a daily driver install.

From what I understand, he wanted to mount a box hanging from the rear deck...

I have the assasins mounted to a box on my rear deck. I'm redoing it now as I have found a flaw in that setup. My rear deck flexes too much for this setup. I'm now cutting out the deck and bracing it with steel structuring tubes, which will probably stiffen the chassis up for me as well. Then rehang the box. It hits nice though.

You will have to cut out the trunk support bars in order to do this though. I just converted mine to a gas strut setup.
