Anyone ever put 2k watts rms on a 13w7??

Wow....

I really should have limited this to actual w7 users or people who have owned the sub,not just speculation.

I dont care what anyone says, this sub is made for SPL,yes it sounds very tight on all kinds of music but it just pounds out the lows and it does get sloppy....

Then again, youd have to live with one for a few thousand miles to know all there quirks;)

Sql

Hey, umm, Sir; could you watch the language, please? lolz

From what I've gathered, you could put 2000 watts into a W7 with ease... I've heard it takes like 3000 watts free air to get to reach full xmax (I dunno if that's true, but it sounds impressive amirite)

Sorry, not a sql sub,its an SPL sub.Like I said, youd have to live with one to know. Now JL w6's are SQL subs.....

I dont want to use 2 subs because to tell the truth,im not wanting to go deaf. This is my daily driver work truck.

Thanks for the input guys.

If you don't want to go deaf why do you want another amp?

GO DEAF! you're only young once, PLUS they have good hearing aids now.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

see, the whole point is, a w7 does not need 2kw. hell, it does not need 1\2 that power.

its a waste of money and equipment to put that much headroom on it imo, unless you are rich and dont give a flying f*ck.

id go with somthing different all together because i didnt like the installs ive heard that used w7's. but then again, im picky as hell.

You confuse me. If it's a daily driver, you're going to be driving those W7's into so much power compression I doubt you'll get any appreciable benefit. Adding another sub would be the logical thing to do if you want to keep the amp, but you "don't want to go deaf"...with a 2kW DD setup.

Sell the amp - so you're not going to get all your money back, so what. Maybe you could find a local that doesn't know its true value.

a DD9515 or 9512 will take that power and ask for more. i put 1500rms on a 3510 and it just laughed at me as if to say 'is that all you got' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif sounded great, and got very very loud. the 3510 vs a 10w7 back to back, the DD blew the w7 out of the water in SPL, but the w7 was just a sliiiiiight bit cleaner. barely noticeable until you got to some real technical tracks, and even then it was pretty close. both were in sealed enclosures, even though DD avidly recommends against sealed.

i've put a pair of 1000/1's on a 13w7 and it was fine. he had it that way for about a year and a half, and then totalled the car last i heard.

just my .02
