ive got the chance to pick up a 95 camaro z28 in good condition for 4900. but i dont know anything about these cars...is there anything i should maybe be aware of? good deal or not?

oh its got 109,xxx miles.

4900 is a bit much. i sold my 94 for 3500 it had 79000 on it

either way good car as long as the ****** doesnt crap out on you

f**kin 4L60e's are garbage

does it have an auto or manual

I personally wouldn't touch it.

As mentioned, $4900 for a 95 with over 100K is pretty excessive.

Put yourself in the shoes of the owner. You own a Z28, how often are you going to whomp on it?

Exactly.

Now imagine that... for 13 years and 100K miles...

If the high mileage doesn't scare you, I'd look into saving another grand or so and get a high mileage LS1 for a little more.

Blue Book Private Party Value

Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

Vehicle Condition Ratings Check Vehicle Title History Excellent

$4,655

Looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning.

Never had any paint or body work and is free of rust.

Clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection.

Engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects.

Complete and verifiable service records.

Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.

Clean title history, the paints, body, and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems.

Little or no rust on this vehicle.

Tires match and have substantial tread wear left.

A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail.

Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.

Fair

$3,675

Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition.

Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional.

Tires may need to be replaced.

There may be some repairable rust damage.

Poor

N/A

Severe mechanical and/or cosmetic defects and is in poor running condition.

May have problems that cannot be readily fixed such as a damaged frame or a rusted-through body.

Branded title (salvage, flood, etc.) or unsubstantiated mileage.

Kelley Blue Book does not attempt to report a value on a "poor" vehicle because the value of these vehicles varies greatly. A vehicle in poor condition may require an independent appraisal to determine its value.

ouch, well i work at the dealership thats selling it. they said they were gonna put it on the lot for $7,995. and employee price is $4900. if it doesnt sell in 30 days the price goes down 500, if it doesnt sell after 60 days the price drops another 500

Lt1 is a solid motor lots of bolt on options and paired with the 6 speed it is terror. optispark is suspect and is the first thing that needs replacement. Also the gm in tank fuel sending units are always suspect. $4000-$4500 is a good price for the car your looking at. I have owned 5 4th gen F-bodys in the past 10 years LT1's and LS1's both. Changing spark plugs in them is a *****, but if your good with a wrench you"ll get through it. I say go for it.

The Camero is a solid car and the LT1 is a solid engine.... I wouldn't hesitate to spend $5K if the car is in good condition...
Last time i checked its spelled camAro lol. sorry that just gets under my skin. but i have an ls1 now. i'd just save up and buy a ls1. lt1's are a decent car but ls1's are much better IMO.

I would punch you in the ****in mouth if you test drove my Z28 doing 140mph //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

On another note, 5k for a 6-speed Z with that mileage isn't bad at all. LT1's, even beat on constantly run in the upper 100k's, as long as basic matinence was done to the car. Ignore the people saying it isn't a good deal, people who haven't owned cars like a Mustang or Camaro don't understand. They think every car made in 95 with 109k is worth the same.
