anyone ever made an all out spl setup wit 8s? let me know about it

i was just wondering the possiblities of 8's i was thinkin it would be funny as hell to make an 8 setup as loud as maybe 15s,if possible, so has anyone else had this idea? and has anyone metered 8's?

they dont even make SE 8s.....yes its possible, just have to build the right box.

uhm yeah a lot of people have made 8" spl setups.

I'm not sure if you ever saw the video of that set of 6.5 Audiobahn subwoofers in an ABC box that honestly sounded like a few 15's

SO it is all in the install.

i have 4 re 8's in a ported box about 3.8 cubes or so tuned to around 33-34 but i have it hooked up in my room with 400 watts and it gets pretty loud in my room and i bet it would be a lot louder in a car. im getting an amp soon so ill have to get it meterd.

back in the day chris norris had 54 ppi 8's in his ranger ...he did this right before finals was hittin well over 170 then 2 weeks or so before finals (might have been a month) they decided to FILTER 80hz and above out. so he ended up doing 157 db lol. but really 4 8's anywhere realistically 150 db and under if your really good can get higher but you have alot of what if's un accounted for. 2 tips i will give you is (for all out spl) tune ported boxes to about 65-75 hz and measure wavelength of the tuning freq of the vehicle you are putting them in and get the box anywhere of 4 places away from your dash 1/4 wave 1/2 wave 3/4 wave or full wave. need help understanding what im talking about ill set you up with a link

My experience with PPI 8's were they arent exactly tuned for SPL.

tune the enclosures to 200-250 hz they are lol trust me that thing made stuff rattle inside classic stereo where we worked lol
