As the title says. Gimme details about your experience, improvement in your eyes, how much it cost, if it was painful at all, how long it took to recover. Thanks i want to start saving up and get this done ASAP. Hopefully next month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks

Hey, just took my GF in 2 saturdays ago to have it done. It was about $2500 for both eyes, with a lifetime guar. for enhancements. That's here in louisville, it may be a little more expensive down there. She was on the more expensive end.

The whole procedure took about 30 minutes. That was prep time and everything.

The actually procedure takes less than 5 minutes for both eyes.

They say you can go back to work the next day. The day of surgery, you have to wear some dark sunglasses the rest of the day. Following surgery they want you to go home and take a nap for a couple hours. You're eyes will feel some pressure and burn a little bit, but after the nap they should be fine.

You have to wear goggles while you are sleeping for the next few night so you don't rub your eyes unknowingly. Also you'll have to put some medicated drops in for about a week, and also your eyes will be dry and you will need eye drops for a couple weeks. There will be some red bruises on your eyes but they will go away in a few days.

She did it on a saturday, just chilled on sunday, went in Monday for a check up and went back to work after the checkup. Now, 1.5 weeks later she is perfectly fine and happy as can be.

Her eyes are now 20/20. She has had glasses/contacts for over 15 years now, and each year her prescription had gotten stronger. She said she would rec. the surgery to anyone. Heck, the surgery will eventually pay for itself after a couple of years of no contacts or glasses.

hope that helps

Thanks that helps out. I didnt know the price was still that high, i guess i can manage it. Did they say anything about smoking after the surgery for some reason, i dont smoke cig, weed, but still i would like to know. Do you know what her perscription in eye contacts were so i can relate to how bad her eyes were. Thanks

haha sorry bout the caps had the lock on and didn't know it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and i guess canada is out of the ?

I just had it done actually, well not JUST but it was done about a year ago, was kinda painful, this was when they were still useing the cutting techneque where they actually cut a tiny little pocket in your eye, they now dont use t hat method much anymore, and that was the only real painful part about it so id imagine you should be pretty good...

My eyesight used to be 20-80... yes 80 and i had an astignatism, meaning my eyes wouldnt reflect light right into one part of my eye ( forget the word) witch would ontop of the 20-80 make my eyesight even worse...

After the surgery, i now have 2-17 and of course the astignatism is gone...

I am very happy with it, it was pretty expensive but the price differes greatly from place to place, as does expearence to, just remember they are your eyes, if they **** up your blind pretty much, wouldnt you pay top dollar to?

There isnt really anything to be afraid of, although its pretty scarey signing all those papers saying you cant sue them if something does go wrong, ie. you end up blind... but once your on the machiene if you move the slightest, it shuts off, its already typed in and computer conotrled, not like its some guy picking his nose controling it, trust me man.... do it

Dude stfu, that is not advice and its not informative and it doesnt answer my questions and you are useless. Why did you even waste your time and reply? I mean seriously did you think you were gonna help me out or something? Did you think i was going to reply "ok trigger, thanks for the great advice and ill take it" STFU

No I was hoping you would use what's left of your minuscule brain. If you're concerned illegal smoking of marijuana is going to effect your recovery don't smoke it. If you stop and think about it, do you really think they have done and medical testing to determine the negative effects of marijuana and LASIK recover times. I don't think so.

Common sense is not your strong point. But immaturity seems to be.

I had PRK done in late 95/early 96, that's the first laser surgery that was FDA approved where they just burn the outer layer off, not the middle as with LASIK. I've had no problems whatsoever though I'm getting closer to needing reading glasses as I get older now.

My advice, go with a good doctor, not the cheapest one you can find. These are your eyes, the only ones you have. If you want to take chances during recovery, go right ahead, that's your choice, just be prepared to deal with the consequences. (same could be said to women that smoke/drink/drugs during pregnancy or anyone in any kind of recovery)

Well thanks for your concern but did you ever think that my illegal activities are MY business and not yours. I dont need the usual, drugs are bad, if it was legal you would say otherwise just cause its legal. I dont smoke pot just to get high but to reep the benefits of the side effects. I do not have an huge appetite and i do not eat alot, this is one of the biggest reasons i smoke, so i can have a appetite and not weigh the 120 pounds i use too. I can also control my anger problems alot better, and sleep alot better at night.

Your talking about immaturity but it seems to me all i ever see is you posting irrelevant Bullshit in alot of these threads not contributin but bashing the thread, which helps in no way. I dont even see why you would even want to post in here, do you have any lasik eperience? Do you know anyone with Lasik experience, if you do by all means respond with a respectable and informative reply not some bullshit *** answer that doesnt help me nor anyone else that is looking for the same advice. You sir are the immature one by far. I am looking for information on a cost heavy and risky procedure and i see in no way how you helped out. Leave my thread alone please so i can learn something, maybe something you should do?

Hey i am currently shopping around for doctors, not prices //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif as i will save up for whatever the best doctor cost is. I was just saying i thought they were lower in price more bu ti guess not, but who cares //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
