ive checked and re checked my wiring at least 5 times and cant find anything wrong. i get seriously 2 channels when im on the island i live on and almost 3 when i get back to mainside. but everyone else gets all the channels on the island you would on mainside. plus even if im off the island and i go like 15 miles from where the station is i lose it. when im in wilmington, about 1 hr south of here, i dont get any stations.

anyone have any ideas?

before i had the 8051 for 3+ yrs. it didnt have great reception but def wasnt this bad

i dont listen to the radio alot but it is annoying

I have the 8053 and it has terrible reception. I'm like the 3rd owner so I don't know if it was better when it was new. My 3413 and 3424 that I had before both had great reception though.

my 8445's reception blows too, every station has static noise in it, my silverados stock unit had wayyy better reception

Maybe the ONLY aftermarket deck I have ever owned that had better reception than stock is my 8250.

I have owned several Eclipses, and I thought the reception was fine, but do people really listen to am/fm any more? I only listen to satellite and cd now.

Are you sure you have the antenna plugged into the back of the deck?

I've owned the 8445 in addition to 3-4 other Eclipse decks and the radio reception has been good on all of them??

I just installed mine two days ago and the radio reception seems to be about the same as with my old eclipse headunit.

One thing about the antenna connector - I had to REALLY push hard to make sure it was seated all the way in. At first I pushed it about halfway and it stopped so I thought, ok its in. After I wired everything else up I decided to double check the antenna, I pushed harder on the connector than I did at first and "POP" it went in another 3/8" of an inch.

So check your antenna connection!

Are you sure your antenna doesn't need power in order to work properly? I had the same problem in my car for the longest time, when I finally realized that my factory antenna needed a remote lead hooked to it to allow it to turn on.

And on that same note, I DID NOT have reception problems on my CD8445 (or my current CD8455) because this problem had been corrected previously.

Terrestrial radio ***** anyway, get Sirius :p

Seems kind of stupid to prevent helping others with advice on equipment from Amazon, doubt that Amazon is preventing this either. Pain in the arse!

Yep, I use 0-28k tones and pink noise. My amp actually came with some really high quality tracks that I've been using. RTA measurements are done...
