Anyone done damage to their ears yet?

I got 24 15s and 18krms in my daily driver doing like 157db @ ~30hz legal on music. I crank that thing up every time I get in my car and my hearing is just fine. I have quite good hearing actually.

i've listened to 140 dbs all day and my hearing is just fine as well. Granted, it is nothing close to yours, but still. I think it is all in people's head that bass destroys their hearing.

On that same note though, I had a firecracker detonate about a foot from my head and I lost my hearing for about 20 seconds. It took around 5 minutes before I could comprehend speech, and my ears hurt for the next two days. I measured the same firecracker detonation with my Kriss Spl Meter (extremely accurate), and it was a 150.7. So 150.7 dbs from a fire cracker >>>>>>>>> then 155 @ 30 hz.

how many db's can the alpine type r's do max? Anyone know.

Approximately ~172.864 dbz for one ARRRGGG

I lost my left ear completely but that's because Kimbo punched it off during our UFC fight......man TKO by default...lame....

I've never heard over a 145 but that shit had me ringing. I can only imagine a 165....

Thing it depends where your at and how your SPL reacts in your car.

My ear hurt from like around 5:30pm when i got until i went to sleep at about 1am yesterday. Ridiculous.
