Anyone checkout the Acer Aspire One?

If your looking for video/picture capability get something other than one of those little notebooks, they aren't designed for much beyond basic word/browsing. I see nowhere on there that its a 120gb hard drive, other than some comment that probably meant 12gb.
I see no way that they got 120 gb in that thing at its price point.

edit reading the wiki on the thing that it says it comes with either solid state or a 120gb standard hard drive, I bet with that batt life sucks
Not looking for high end graphics, just storage on the road and

usability for work, and a music/**** stash on the road. jk

I think your right about the price point, I know 120g 2.5 drives

are available, may be an option. I'll try to dig deeper.

check out the asus eeepc they make a 7" and now a 8.9"
Newegg has em and there is a big mod community, some people convert em to touch screens or add a 32GB flash drive internally for storage
I wonder if they can run Office 07 decently, mainly excel, powerpoint, and word...It would be a nice computer for me if it does. The 2GB HD doesn't bother me because I'd never fill it up unless O/S and Office are too big.

I actually have the 120gb version. Thing runs like a champ the atom processor in it is awesome. The 120gb has XP home also. Runs ubuntuu well. Runs osX well too. I don't think the build quality is bad either, and no you CANNOT flex it with your bare hands //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif.

It's awesome if you need something small and don't want to mess with solid state, which if you notice is getting horrible reviews. I know quite a few people that bought into the Asus eeePc's and are on their 2nd-3rd hard drive already.

Is that why I've already had 2 attempted returns to my store (of 12 sold) w/ broken screens ?
The thing is built like shit ... Enjoy your shitbox ...

lmao maybe people are stupid? My previous acer laptop I had for 3 years and never had an issue. I've worked retail before also, almost all major brands have people that don't like them so what you think means nothing to me.

I was a tech at circuit city a few years back and there was one series of HP laptops that we got in that about 3 out of every ten were just dead from HP. Then there was a whole series of Toshiba's that the bios was fucked up and wouldn't register that the battery was connected.

OP believe what you want and buy what you want, there will always be contrasting opinions.

I dont mind my acer. I really dont see where the build quality issue is coming up. Mine is one of the higher up ones and it has yet to have any issues. I have had it for maybe 3 months... Ju

Just my 2 cents
