I don't see anything about 120GB drive though just 8GB internal memory and you can add an SD card.

This would work good for me for lugging around though as I used a really heavy and old thinkpad now (currently needs a new HD) and this seems like it would be perfect for my needs which are basically just an SSH terminal 98% of the time which is why I never upgraded the Thinkpad.

That's kinda what I was thinking too. I thought it had built in SD

though. I VPN in and vnc back.

The Apsire One, like most Acer products, has terrible build quality ...

The new Dell netbook received good reviews and hovers around the same price point ... Seems like a better choice to me ...

I agee, but it only has to last me 2-3yrs if it costs $380.

Are the cheapo Dell's light in weight?

I thought it was pretty good with Open office and the internet. I don't need a computer for much more...and when I do need more, I use mainframe computer at schools....where I have to have data run overnight. I am either high end or low end...

I've got a (Nikon 10mp) digital SLR

camera, I chew through 4g SD cards

on the road. Our Panasonic cam corder

can also use SD (or built in HDD).

If your looking for video/picture capability get something other than one of those little notebooks, they aren't designed for much beyond basic word/browsing. I see nowhere on there that its a 120gb hard drive, other than some comment that probably meant 12gb.

I see no way that they got 120 gb in that thing at its price point.

edit reading the wiki on the thing that it says it comes with either solid state or a 120gb standard hard drive, I bet with that batt life sucks

you cant get linux and the larger hard drive

United States

* Linux, 3-cell battery, 512MB RAM, 8GB SSD: $329 USD[41]

* Linux, 6-cell battery, 1GB RAM, 8GB SSD: $399 USD[42]

* WinXP, 3-cell battery, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD: $349 USD[43]

* WinXP, 6-cell battery, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD: $399 USD[44]
