anybody watching discovery?

these shows about how people are designing huge buildings and are already planning out the safety structure of them that can theoretically work is amazing. saying that elevators may have no cables at all in the future. they would be electromagnetically pushed and pulled. it seems like it could actually work when you sit and think about it. as well as moving horizontally. if these technologies move much further (ideas anyways) if money catches up, i think we could all be in for seeing things we never thought we would.

Actually, yes....sitting here watching the same thing.

And, frankly, I'm thoroughly amazed that elevators utilizing electromagnetic force aren't already in use.

I watch Modern Marvels all the time, but I think that's on the History channel. I thoroughly enjoy both MM and Mythbusters.

Ya I think the same thing, we use it to rocket trains around at 100 mp/h why not get it into a building.
