anybody wanna recone/build a recone for mah frickin Type X yet?

still have a blown 10" type X sitting in our guest bedroom waiting to be thrown away or reconed. I would love to recone it and play with it but nobody has stepped up to the plate with solid proof they can do it. Team PSI said i could ship it to them, then they will look at it and tell me if they can or not.. meaning they havnt tried one yet.

resko done one I think... least the motor of one he did with a different basket if I remember right.

fedge, PSI said they did not know if it could be done but they could try.. so i would have to ship it to them and they would charge 120 +/- $10 to do it. id rather just buy a recone kit from somebody that knows which parts it needs. i thought it was a 3" but i really dont know. hah i havnt looked at it or taken it apart. i wanted to keep the type X cone in the beginning but i really dont care anymore.

talk to resko1... I'm pretty sure he's done a recone with keeping the type x cone on it

Chances are, no one has the specs like coil gap, spider size, former length, etc.....so getting all the parts to send you a kit would be all guesswork. Take the thing apart and get some measurements. Then order what ya need, and rebuild it.

i built a 12" for mrezst on this forum. there is pix of it on here somewhere and he burps and runs music with over 2k to it.

i had to drill and tap the motor for a better 4 spoke basket. i used a 8 layer coil in it, linear spiders and it is a great sql sub.

i can build for you but not with the stock baket limits the spider too much...
