Anybody involved in RC vehicles?

Here is what I recommend. Personally I prefer cars over planes and ****.

Traxxas Revo 3.3 converted to brushless. Get the ****** conversion (reverse lockout), Castle creations 2200kv brushless setup, electric conversion kit and the 2.4ghz radio/receiver and some nice 4s 5000mah lipo packs and thats about it. Gonna cost you a fair amount but its stupid fast. Mine did 60+ MPH the way I had it geared and the torque was retarded. It would do a standing backflip no problem.

Kind of unrelated but not really... I own a popular motor that they use for RC planes: A Komatsu Zenoah G-230RC. It's on my Go-Ped. They're pretty simple to work on but you need to run 110+ octane to keep them happy. Try to find out if a station in town carries it. Normally if you live near a race track chances are there's a gas station that sells high octane fuel nearby

very, unfortuanatly very expensive.

if your starting i highly recommend electric, and trucks cars etc go with traxxas reason being many parts available and easy to work on.

Stay away from nitro the cost of what you will burn in a day will make you sick as for now I run a 57" deepvee with a G26cc zenoah good thing about boat crashes there's usually something left unlike my $5,000 lst2 full mod, I did a neat trick where I took it apart in under 3sec using just a wall as my tools, only thing is I could only do that trick once and I almost cried! boat's just flip, retrieve, re start and go again! that and tires are around 150-200 for a good set of 4 monster truck tires/rims, boat props don't wear so theres less to replace that and a high speed boat is fun to drive anyone can drive an rc car but a boat is a mix between skipping a stone and flying a plane really an adrenaline rush.

how about E85?

how about E85?
I have just about the same engine in my boat and I have to use an 98 min with an ethanol treatment or else it has a crappy idle and no real pick-up it's odd how a couple octane points will really mess with a tune and peak in the power band. But still easier to work on/tune then any nitro motor including my son T-maxx 3.3 it's not bad holds a tune well but it's a beginners/entry model truck not a ton of torque just dependable good for a 5yr old.

My brother has a boat and an electric truck. That's why i figured I'd be a lil different and get a plane. How much $$ am i looking at to start off and keep up for these things??

A plane reminds me of the couple times I have watched a grown man sob like a baby the other couple where helicopters, and theres no way around it there expensive as hell if you buy a cheap one you will never want to play again so DON'T BUY CHEAP read around on rc forums and see what there playing with and beating the hell out of and then you will see the weak points of each toy and what others are doing to fix them, it is fun but it's a very involved hobby take a look at the traxxas XO-1 I considered that recently just because everyone is having problems breaking the 100mph mark and keeping it on the ground all of these things are a challenge and will require many hours of your time and hundreds if not thousands of your dollars, especially if it turns out you LIKE IT!

Used to be, then I grew the fuck up....ask WDW though, he plays with Tonka toys all the time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Yeah because Tonka toys and hobby grade RC vehicles are on the same level:rolleyes:

(hopes this guy is just trolling..)
